Strength that still holds up in twenty years.
Personal training in Southeast Portland for adults who want to stay strong for the long run. Your own program, rebuilt every month around what your body actually did, with a coach who knows you.
“He has helped me train for specific events (long hikes), through pregnancy and postpartum, and general strength and fitness.”
Training after 40 is a different job.
Recovery takes longer. Old injuries have opinions. The program you ran at 28 doesn’t fit the body you have now. So we write one that does, and we rebuild it every month as you change. Progress you can keep, not a number you chase once and lose.
Who this is for.
Adults who’ve trained before and plan to keep at it. Some have never stopped. Some are getting back into it after a few years away. They take staying strong seriously, and they want to move well without pain for a long time.
Not a quick number. Strength that holds up for years.
A new program every month.
We start by watching how you move. Nothing gets written until we’ve seen it. Then the plan changes month to month, built on what the last month actually looked like, not on what a template says should come next.
One coach. A small group. You are never anonymous.
A small group, everyone on their own program. The same coach every session, who knows where you are and where you’re headed. No crowds. No drop-ins.
They stayed for years. Here's why.
Some have trained here eight years. One, nearly ten.

Common questions.
Is this for people over 40?
Most of our members are in their forties, fifties, and beyond. They've trained before, they want to keep moving well, and they're in it for the long run. That said, there's no age rule. The fit is about how you want to train, not the year on your license.
I've trained for years already. Is there anything here for me?
Yes. A lot of our members have lifted their whole lives and still get more out of a program written for them and rebuilt each month than they ever did on their own. A second set of eyes on how you move catches the things you stopped noticing.
What if I've got an old injury?
That's common here. We build the program around it. You can read more on the post-injury page, but the short version is we train around the thing, not through it.
What kind of training is it?
Personal training in a small group. One coach, everyone on their own strength program, and you're never anonymous. It isn't a class and it isn't an open gym.
How much does it cost?
Monthly, with no long contracts. Most members train two or three times a week, starting at $392 a month.
